The new spoon tool at work! The shape of this tool allows full control of the metal disc through the spinning process.

Bulkhead doubler layout and trimmed doubler ready for bonding and fixture!

Re: 11AC Spinner and Nose Bowl Ring
After working a long night with the Black Death (carbon fiber) at the R&D shop, it's good to relax in the shop here and make positive progress on the spinners!!!
Bulkhead with bonded doubler ready for nut-plate installation.
Thanks for your patience!

Chris, I panicked when I read your comment about stepping back from the project! Glad to see you still at it.
If you don't mind asking; how did you bond the doubler?
Amazing work!

Nathan,
The doubler and bulkhead are abraded with scotch-brite. Solvent cleaned with MEK until no signs of oil and grease deposits on the towel. Epoxy spread onto doubler and assembly placed into a fixture for even pressure and squeeze out of adhesive around the doubler.
Hope I answered your question, anything specific I need to add?

New style nut-plates installed (industry standard).

Re: 11AC Spinner and Nose Bowl Ring
Receiving positive feedback about the spinners and bulkheads. It has been a slow process with the issues of the bulkhead assembly. Once again I appreciate your patience with me! I want things done correctly and that takes time.

Re: 11AC Spinner and Nose Bowl Ring
Very very nice! Ian will be very proud of his new spinner!
Re: 11AC Spinner and Nose Bowl Ring
Beautiful work Charles. I just bought an 11AC and when the ferry pilot delivered it the spinner had come lose at the mounting next to the prop. Now I need a new spinner and back plate! Are you at a delivery phase? Please let me know.
Thanks for sharing all the pictures of your work! I know I can fly without it but I want my Yellow Bird to look pretty and your spinner will dress her up nicely.

I have been away from the shop for a few days, the R&D group has moved me into other positions. I had three schedule changes in two weeks, little tiring.
