LANDING GEAR

Post by flybwg »

I need some info on a 58 champ. The champ was rebuilt in the early 70's and the landing gear was replaced with a Citabria landing gear. The log books show this repair but no 337. Is there a STC for this or do I need to be looking for a different gear. My IA is having some problems with this, Every other IA has signed the annual since the 70's none of them even mention it. Any info would be appreciated.

I would find another inspector.
With exception of the L16 no-bounce gear, all of the gear should interchange. I have some early parts manuals, thanks to some NAA members, and can look up the part numbers if you don't have them. Is it a FC or HC ? They could have different axles.

Agree with Paul. Is this a young or not so experienced IA? Often happens when we find someone with a new or fresh IA who is "by the book" and has not been out in the field very much.
