Buzz Wagner STC for O-235 Engine on a Aeronca 7AC
I have looked through past posts regarding the subject STC. Most are 5 or more years old. Is the STC still available and how does one get in contact with Mr. Wagner? Does the STC require modifications to the 7AC fuselage?
Thanks for your help.
Robert

I believe that Buzz has passed away, but one of his family members night have the STC and still offer it for sale.

You might want to try this. It worked in 2010.
Cole Wagner
Clark, SD
phone # 605-532-3862
Mod's to the fuselage.
Install Champion 2-950 fuselage reinforcements on right and left
side OR weld in 4130 chrome moly tubing 1/2" OD by .035 in same
location.
Clamp on Dorsal Fin -Specification # 618 is recommended BUT not
required under the STC.

Robert,
I'm in the process of just finishing the installation of a 0200 in my L16 (7BCM) using the Wagner STC. Be aware the STC is pretty convoluted and leaves a lot open to interpetation. In other words it's not a 'step by step' operation. This is not necessarily bad but makes for a lot of 'head scratching' at times. It does allow you to build your own engine mount and exhaust system. Having said that it appears the 0235 part of the STC is better than the 0200.

It is kinda like a double edged sword. It is nice to have flexibility if you know how to use it.

Just talked with Cole Wagner, the son of Buzz.
He is running the family business and has a good amount of parts. Was looking for some 11CC/Sedan brake pedals for a friend and Cole is down to one last set, so could not help much.
In the old days Buzz had someone who made the rudder pedal castings but evidently this gent has passed away as well so Cole cannot get anymore.

He should sent that last set to Don Jones and let him make copies.

I know where there is a set right now to copy... originals, not copies.
