floorboards revisited
floorboards revisited
Guys, my floor board will do as a pattern. Question I read somewhere the floor boards are in three pieces--correct? If so, mine are in 4 right front, left front, middle which cover the back stick area and the fourth is from behind the rear seat. some one welded a bar in front of station 52 in drawing 7-450 (bottom view) and put a small piece that covers the rear stick area from that bar to station(52). Are the front 2 panels are split all the way past the rear stick to station 52. I am calling it station 52 however the drawing is numbered 52(cross member) and then the rear piece from that cross member to back? I hope this makes sense. I can split that small piece and add it to the front two piceces. Also, I have a plywood triangle under the front 2 pieces as a stiffner--necessary? I had to disconnect the cables to remove the rear piece--cable ran thru a rectangular hole and the middle piece to take it out over the stick. thanks Ron

Ron, the floor board is 3 pieces, Main floor left & right and one rear. Look at the wagaero picture again, you can see it ends just behind the hole for the rear stick which is about 2 ft short of full back.RMASS wrote:Guys, never mind I looked at wag aero and they go all the way back. it starts from the front and goes back just behind the rear stick, it rests on the square tube that right infront of the back seat & its also the tube that the cotrol stick bushing bolts too. The rear section does have a rectangular hole the the cotrol cable goes through and you do have to remove it to remove the rear floor board. Too bad the Aeronca.com site is down for an face lift, the prints should be there. Might Ask the NAA board if they have the prints. I can take a picture of the setup from my project showing the left / right & rear.

Re: floorboards revisited
Thanks Mike, I can use my boards as patterns. I can put my pieces together and make it right instead of the way they jack legged it. I will probably make all three pieces cause the middle piece they put in there I think goes quite a bit further back than the stick. I looked at the Wag Aero and can get a good idea of where to cut the front floor boards along with my pieces. Ron
