Well, I was able to make a deal on a L-3C that has been kicking around the area. It is in good condition with some of the original paint and fabric. It was surplussed in 1945
with 72 hrs. The only repair information is the recovering of the wings in 1955 and last operated in August of 1958. With this plane being apart for 50 years, some of the
parts are missing. Specifically some of the left wing hardware and the stick assembly. If anyone has some spare TA or L3 stuff keep me in mind.

Re: L-3C parts
I just finished gathering up some information on this new L-3. It was assigned to the 211th AAF Base Unit and used by the 15th Bombardment Wing 2nd Air Force. It was stationed at the Casper, Wy. Army Airfield. If there is some information that you might have on these units please let me know.

Re: L-3C parts
Paul,
I recently purchased some aeronca parts and I know they don't fit a champ. I have some tail feathers, rudder pedals and a stick assembly. Based on a picture of an elevator I saw on e-bay, I think the parts may fit a TA. If you have a picture of what the stick assy is supposed to look like, I will see what i've got.

Re: L-3C parts
Bill,
The stick assembly looks a lot like the Cub set up. It's got a "H" type weldment at the rear for the aileron cables to hook up to. I'll try to get a photo of it.

Re: L-3C parts
Bill,
That's the piece. If you're interested in getting rid of the parts, I'm interested.
This poor little plane was stored around the NorCal area since the late '50s. A few of the parts have been misplaced. It's real low time, about 600hrs total. The Army assigned it to the 15th Wing 2nd Air force, a replacement B24 squadron in Colorado. It was released having been flown only 70hrs. The last sign off in the log was done by Art Scholl, it's quite an interesting log book.

Thats good Paul. I am willing to part with it. Finding something useful out of this recent venture may make it worthwhile. Why don't you e-mail me at "william.nc41@gmail.com" and we won't clog up the forum with uninteresting info.
