Is this an original emblem?

Post by Rafael »

A few weeks ago a previous owner of my 1938 50C Chief sent me these emblems that he took of the cowling. I have the original cowlings and the holes are a perfect match. Does anyone have these or seen these before?

Morning Rafeil:
I worked for Emery Worldwide in Dayton Ohio, Several pilots at that company owned Aeroncas, and other small aircraft.I don't recall his name, but the man I am thinking of worked in Maintenance and had a nice collection of Aeronca factory memoribilia, handed down from his dad. He worked at both facilities. I think I am seeing an auto badge, that management employees would attach to a plate on the front of there car, to gain entry in side the fence to the factory, at Lunkin or possibly Middletown I may be wrong, but I think that is what you have, It's a nice piece. Well I thought of it as an add on, however my airplane originally was black and some black paint is attached to the back of one of them. Coincidence? I dont know. ALso I have the original top cow and the holes do match pefectly. Thank you so much for the info.
