One thing that many do not realize is that in Europe, most markets close at 6-7 pm at night on weekdays, and after 1 pm on Saturday.

If you want/need food and only have time to shop after the above times, your choices are very limited. Gas stations have limited selections but your real choices are really narrowed down to two, the train station or the airport. Both of these have markets and shops that stay open on the weekends and later at night and give you the ability to get food on the weekends and evenings!
