Aileron spads

A friend is looking for an STC to install aileron spads on an 8kcab with wooden wings. He is under the impression that spads are approved for metal spars but not wooden spars. He has, however, been told that there is an STC for spads on a wooden wing. Anyone know who has the STC or can add Info about the installation.
