I have a tapered crank and bought a new nut and snap ring for the prop flange. I have not been able to figure out to get the snap ring on. Any suggestions or tricks out there?
Thanks!

Re: Propeller flange snap ring
Been a year or so since I did one, but here's what I think I do. Get a good hose clamp and pull the ring around the flange nut as tight as you can. Slide the hub on the crank and space it out a little from the case using some wood blocks (size accordingly to allow nut to screw in). Put some oil around the inside of hub and screw the nut in, snap ring should go in. I've done it before without screwing it in if I just have the hub by just whacking the nut (with the snap ring hose clamped on) using a block of wood to protect it while I give it one good strike with a two pound sledge.

Al,
Thanks so much for the sage advice. I had been trying the hose clamp method and was getting no where. Got a better clamp, lubed everything and it went right on. Now, if I could just get the boot cowl to fit right !
Thanks again,
