Re: anyone flying a champ ?
Update: I planned on flying my Champ to Florida after Thanksgiving, but when I got back north from Florida, I found that ECI, who has had the four cylinders and pistons since early August and promised to rework the cylinders under warranty have not completed the work AND lost a cylinder and piston. So now I am compelled to return sometime in mid-winter when the promised work gets done and fly south in really cold weather. Am I happy? No.

Sunny,
I got my Glider rating at Dillingham in '68, a really fun, laid back place.
No skydivers in those days.

hey Gus I missed your post haven't been on in a while. Dillingham Fld, great place I did Pell-air for 5 years with emery, the retired Col from Schofield ran the flight and glider operation there. Used the old L-19 CAP bird dogs when I was there. I flew the 126 Switzer, all the time. was set up 3 different occations for my check ride even paid in advance, once, A knew a few Air America tow pilots that I worked with back in 1967-68. great guys, last flight I had over there was in 1998, I would fly on Sundays. Still have my log book, and glider flight manual. I own a 7DC champ, and live in Granbury Texas. I was assigned in Hawaii with the Military and Air America. Stationed at Wheeler and Honolulu Airport. Oh the good old days A fellow Aviator Sunny
