Two Sedans for Sale - One Flying, the Other a Project

Post by bsafran »

Every once in a while you take an unexpected trip down memory lane. My best friend in the world (and the best man at my wedding 27 years ago) used to brag about the Aeronca Sedan he used to own and what an outstanding airplane it was. Yeah, right! What's a Sedan? Well, in time I became not only a convert, but the biggest fan of the Aeronca Sedan on the planet! I have accidentally owned five in one shape or another over the years - including the "Tin Can Sedan" which was one of only two ever to have the fuselages metalized. Thankfully, Mr. Toepke of Port Angeles, WA converted it back to its original state of graceful fabric. The Sedan my best friend owned was N1049H and I actually traced it down many years ago. It was a project and I tried to buy it to rebuild for my buddy, but sometimes best intentions don't materialize into fact. Now I see a Sedan project on Barnstormers and guess which airplane it is? N1049H! I called the gentleman up who has it for sale and had the time of my life talking over the history of the plane. If anyone is interested in buying a project and rebuilding the world's best 4 place taildragger, look on Barnstormers and give this man a call. He also has a flying 15AC for sale for only $23,800, but he admits that some work might be necessary in the near future. There are so few of these remarkable airplanes still around and anyone wanting the roomiest, easy to fly taildragger - look this guy up. You'll have a great time talking to him even if you never buy his plane.

Brian,

Believe that this airplane is up for sale again on Barnstormers. I would love to have it but the hangar is full and cash is low! :)
