Need Camshaft for C 85

Hi to all

The engine shop just informed me that I will need a replacement camshaft for the C 85 that I'm working on. Anyone know of a servicable or new one around. The original was #24231 and the shop says I need a 530788
I will start the hunt for one this afternoon but thought a shout out to this board would help possibly.

I was able to find a NOS 40584 cam but will wait to see if anyone might have another lead on one.

Cams are getting hard to find. When the little Cont. engine shops find one they usually snatch it up. It might hurt the wallet, but you might want to grab this one while you can.

I spent the afternoon checking out availibility from all my scorces that i could muster and came to the conclusion that indeed NEW cam availibility for these little engines is very very limited at this time. I was able to find several that were used and claimed to be OK but the cost comparision to the NOS was the deciding factor and I went with the 40584 NOS cam. Another factor is I will be selling this plane after completion and everything else so far has been done right in my opinion so why start now trying to save a buck. I know I will find a buyer that understands this, and be willing to pay for it.

I just posted a good condition 4546 on Ebay last Sunday, so if anyone needs one of those its there!

I've got a fresh reground cam, don't have the number with me. But it's a +.020 if anybody's looking.
