Many thanks to Joe for getting me registered here! I have been lurking and reading a
ton since I found this forum.
Way back when, I co-owned N9072B, C-90/7-FC, based at Flying Cloud (FCM) in
Eden Prairie, MN. Fast forward, I'm getting the itch to get back in a Champ, and thus,
found myself here. I see a lot of Minnesota and Wisconsin guys here, and look forward to meeting many of you! Hope to be in the market for a C-85 soon!

Welcome aboard!! When you get a plane come on over to my place for a visit. My strip is next to Itasca State Park.
If you haven't found a Champ you can come buy mine! ;) Even has floats for all the lakes up here.

Hey Mike, welcome. Good group here with lots of information. I'm just south of Eau Claire, Wi. Our airport is 3WN9 (find it on airnav.com) which the flying club owns. Interesting as I own N9072C (one letter away) 47 Aeronca L16A which I just finished restoration on. Presently now restoring a 48 11CC Super Chief 85 horse.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not from MN or WI, but stayed in Minneapolis last month after traveling through Wisconsin

Thanks for all the kind words. Keith, I have a cabin about 20 miles N of Grand Rapids, and used to
fly in and out of GPZ quite a bit. Actually, I got my solo there, as well.
MikeB, I'll contact you sometime, when I can get over to Eau Claire. I'd like to see your setup and airplanes. Went to the Rush City airshow today, but it was pretty much rained out. Last year it was
a great airshow! Mike

Hi Mike, I'm sorry I must have missed your post earlier in the week.
I have a 7AC restoration just down the road at Anoka County airport. Your welcome to stop by anytime I'm around, send me a PM if your interested.
Sometimes I'm on the road so I may not see it right away.

Do you have any old pictures you could post of your plane?

Jim- Thanks for the invite...I'll get ahold of you one of these days! I moved, after 40 years in Minneapolis, to a ranch up here and haven't unpacked completely, so I'll be digging for old pics. I've got a few good winter shots. I used to connect an old vacuum cleaner hose from my car heater into the cowl on the Champ for engine pre-heat. Fun!

Joe- Can't use the PM feature, and have to wait for approval by admin, before posts show up.
That seems to make communication difficult. Thanks, Mike

Mike,
I just took a deposit on my Champ from a guy that can't be too far from your cabin. He said he is on a lake 15 miles north of GR. You'll probably see it flying around there in the next few days. I finished the annual today and he was going to fly it home but the winds were too much for him so I guess tomorrow morning he will get it.

Mike,

I have pulled my hair out trying to figure this out and no one has any ideas yet.

As soon as anyone gets an idea, will try it...

Thx,

Joe A
