Hi All,
I just committed to buying a set of serviceable EDO 92-1400s, Chief Rigging and a set of Bolt On Fuselage Fittings. Now all I need is a Chief with at least a C-75-12 that will allow for an upgrade to maybe a C-85 etc. and a starter.
Would also like a partner, other wise I am selling my Champ to get this. Would be interested in taking on a partner in both. One 7CCM on wheels and on 11AC on Floats for the Season and Ski's for the winter. Anyone interested?
The plan is to keep the Chief on Floats somewhere between where I am at Warwick, N72 and August Field, aka Island Bob's up by Glen's Falls on the Hudson River. Could be Round Lake or Saratoga Lake in the same general area. I an open to either or to John's seaplane base on the Esopus or even Greenwood Lake on the New York end.
If I get a partner for both, then the 7CCM would stay in my hanger at Warwick, if not, then the Chief could go into it for the winter when not on floats.
Let me know if:
You have a Chief for sale or Trade
Have any interest in one form or another of this partnership
Cheers - Bob

Re: Chief Float Plane Partnership
Work is now starting on cleaning, re-sealing and painting the floats and rigging. Will make a nice kayak if I don't find a Chief on sit on top of them.

A good friend of mine has one in Palmer AK. He started to recover it, then his health started going south. Last I heard all the Woodwork was done and he wanted 10K for it. He flew it for years. It was a solid plane with I believe an 85 Horse engine. Not sure if this is a good number but worth a try 907-746-2771, name is Al. Email: al.damkoehler@gmail.com

Thanks Dik, I will give it a try. Not sure about getting it back and finishing it, but I will see what he says. Bob

Re: Chief Float Plane Partnership
I am still looking for a High Horspower - Post War - LSA Legal Chief, light as possible. C-85-12, C-90-12, 0-200, 0-235. (As per the type certificate is appears that on Floats an 11CC would be legal LSA, but not on wheels or skis, which I could live with)
Would be nice if reasonably close to the east coast.
I have a set of EDO 92-1400 Floats with all the rigging that it will sit on top of.
Also interested in 1 - 3 partners to use this plane in season on floats and off season on Wheels and Skis.
Open to locations:
Greenwood Lake, New York
Esopus Creek - Kingston, New York area
Round Lake about 30 North of Albany, New York
August Field, Fort Edward, New York - 6 South of Glens Falls.
With the exception of Greenwood Lake all of the others have grass runways adjacent to the seaplane base so flying in to play on the water works.
Cheers , Bob

Re: Chief Float Plane Partnership
Bob,
I am also interested in a partner for a post-war chief I want to buy, I have a sedan on floats so the Chief would just be land based, I have one I have been looking at that is really sharp, well maintained and RTF.
I am in SE Michigan in the Brighton/Howell/Fenton area.

Live on Lake, seaplane in back yard....
Re: Chief Float Plane Partnership
Harmon,
Move to Northern New Jersey, Down State, New York or even Upstate New York and we can be partners. I have the floats, rigging, fuselage fittings and skis for the winter, but no plane.
