Unfortunetely I'm knee deep in my 1948 Chief 11CC restruction which will probably keep me amused for a year or two more (or more directly I'm into a home remodeling project which is interfering with my Chief project). At age 74+ I can only hope to finish it and still have time to fly it. I noted that your Champ is shown as a 1946 model and has the rounded windows so I expect it was a 7AC converted to a 7BCM with the 85-12 engine, etc. I think that was fairly common.

Ended up buying a 1971 Bellanca 7ACA with 85/0-200 crank...love it
