that is a neat pic of the script on the bolt heads. I have a prewar Ford product and they didnt put those in it. Never seen that before. Now every time I see a restored Mil Jeep I will be looking at bolts.

To the best of my knowledge, the bolts were all poured in a mold to get the raised "F". Parts such as Fenders and seat backs were all stamped. I will take a couple pics tonight and show you some more.

Folks that fool around with Fords for any length of time develop what is know as "F-Fever"
It was exciting to clean parts and discover little "F's" on various items.

Jeff: I do fool around with Fords some. Now you have my curiosity up. I will be out scratching around on bolts and other factory parts looking for the Script Fs.

Most of the McDowell stuff I've come across was by word of mouth. Not too many people tend to list the stuff. Keep asking and I'm sure one will show up.

A McDowell starter just sold on the fAA email list and the price I heard bantered around was $3000.

For that kind of change we might look at making them again!
