Alrighty, then!
I need to have my airspeed indicator serviced and while I'm at it, I think I'll pull the altimeter and send it to the shop for cleaning and refacing since it is the dullest, dingiest thing on my panel.
Qwerstion is: what is the best way to remove the "bubble" instrument surround on the Chief? Does it just pull off (held by springs?) or is it held to the panel via bolts/posts/nuts that have to be unscrewed from behind the panel?
I'm not just being lazy - the plane is hangared more than 100miles form here so a quick jaunt over to check this out is kind of inconvenient. Any help or insight is much appreciated.

To remove the instrument trim cover, you will have to remove the oil and temp gauge. The oil gauge is easy, just remove the tubing nut and clamp on the back of the gauge. The temp gauge will take a little longer, remove the temp bulb from the oil screen on the back of the engine and clamp on back of gauge and pull the gauge, line and bulb out through the inst panel and then the cover will come off. Have fun,do not damage the temp capillary line.
