A long time ago one could go to the auto store and find a catalog of things like hoses - we need some short brake hoses with # 4 inverted flare or 1/8 NPT or any combination, between 8" and 11" long.
These were standard automotive in the 1940s - the one I am familiar with is female # 4 Weatherhead on one end, male 1/8" NPT on the other, 11" long, supplied on every single Piper from 1946 on to ?
We are in the middle of the 7EC field- approved conversion, and I would like to buy the flex lines off the shelf. The #4 Weatherhead is, I think, 7/16x24 NPSM threads.

Napa Auto Parts still has an illustrated Brake Hose catalog with the pics and size specifics of hoses. You can probably find two or three pictures to match what you need if they will let you go through the book with them. then its a question of finding the hose in either a local store or one of their distribution centers. I retiered from Napa two years ago and used to find odd hoses all the time. There are also a variety of rubber specailty outfits that can build one for you. I had two new ones built for my Sedan locally and it only cost me about 45 bucks for both.

We have a place in National City that builds lines to order while you wait. NAPA had pictures in the back of the book, but we could find none with 1/8" NPT. See my report on disc brake conversion.
