0-200 OIL SUMP

Post by hammmike »

I have a small leak in my c-85 oil tank. A friend has a O-200 tank in very good shape that I can get cheap, {free}. Can I run it on my C-85 champ without any issues and what do I need to do to put it on and not run into any trouble down the road. I am sure that this has been done before. Also would I run 6 qtrs. of oil with it? Thanks Mike

Mike,
It doesn't fit without a minor modification. One of the flange support tubes contacts the engine mount, other than that it's a slam dunk. Remember to update the W/B to reflect the added oil.

My IA is not warm and fuzzy about me putting a O-200 sump on. I will get mine welded and put it back on. Thanks for the information Mike H.
