I'm BACK!!

Post by SFC Hiatt »

What's up Red Blooded, God Fearing, America Loving and most importantly.............Aeronca lovers?!?!

Life got in the way the past several years but I'm now Army retired and gainfully employed by USAA living in beautiful Buda, Texas. The wife has her forever home and I'm quickly recovering from my 3rd back surgery.

In a momentary lapse of judgement the National Aeronca Association decided to let me join the Board of Directors...........let that sink in for a second, I'm as surprised as you are.....honored to even be considered but still very surprised. I hope to see many of you at this years convention where I'll be working the registration table and stealing unattended airplanes. Its been 1116 days or 26,784 hours or more precisely 1,607,040 minutes since I last broke the surly bonds of Earth, but I think I still remember what the rudder does.

Take care friends!

Good to see you are actively supporting Aeronca aircraft and serving on the board. Look forward to meeting you in Middletown.

Welcome back Chris, too bad it's been a ghost town on the web site lately.

Ghost town for sure, I half expected to be tarred and feathered by sundown for my comment. Did everyone leave for Facebook?

Me too! I'm rather sad to see the lack of activity on this site. I'm on FB Aeronca group also but always felt this was better overall. Other than the fact there's no place to easily post pictures anymore. The FB page is more of a social group. Here we basically dealt with nut and bolt issues.

Facebook sucked all the activity from the forum. There are several of us that check here regularly and it still is a tremendous source of information.

I've got too many airplanes to build to be on Bookface all day. No plan to follow there.

I'll be at Middletown probably mid-week. The last time I connected thru Dayton but planes were pretty full even on Monday. Looking at a SFO direct to Indy and drive on over to Middletown. There's got to be something to look at between IND and Middletown.

I went out to El Mirage dry lake a couple of weeks ago and brought home a Tri-Pacer, and I'm comparing the fuselages some difference, don't know if it will work.
