If you have a starter I can supply the brackets to mount it to the engine. While McDowell made the starters, Aeronca built the specific brackets to adapt them to their airframes.
Not all of the starters are the same. They have differing parts for the tapered and flanged crankshafts as well as different brackets for the A-series and C-series.

Good to know Paul. I'm aware of several people who are looking at starters and can't find the engine parts. It is my understanding the engine/airplane parts differ between a Champ and a Chief. Are you able to supply either and all from the handle to the starter?

Richard,

I just make the engine installation brackets.
All of the Chiefs I've looked at have the mounting on the airframe. The little tab on the L/H diagonal tube on the left side, as well as the handle mount on the floor tubing. Also the extra little hole in the firewall on the left side. The Champs have a much more involved installation for the pull handle. I haven't seen any of those installations.
Either of the engine brackets I can build on request. Just keep in mind the service of these starters takes time, and most were removed because of the service requirements.
