Hi everyone
I’m a new member and picking up a 1945 7AC this weekend. I’m learning all I can, but one thing perplexes me.
This aircraft made its first flight in December 1945, but has a serial number in the high 300’s.
How did Aeronca sequence their serial numbers? I see a s/n 10 listed....
Just curious.
Thanks!
Robbie

Re: Serial number sequence
To the best of my knowledge each post-war model started with its model number followed by the sequence it was produced. ie. 7AC-1 to the last one made by Aeronca. The Chief 11AC-2 to the last or 11BC-1
