Aeronca 65-TC 1940 parts and service manuals

Looking for parts and service manuals information would be greatly appreciated.

To my knowledge there never was a service manual but Service Letters were published. I am restoring a TC and here are the information resources that I found to be most helpful.

1. I highly recommend that you join the Aeronca Museum, https://www.aeroncamuseum.org. The museum has a lot of information, including the Service Letters. Most importantly the Museum has a search engine that allows the user to search for drawing numbers by airplane model and part description. That has been a huge aid to me for reasons explained below.

2. CDs containing Aeronca drawings are available from two sources. The NAA issues a free CD of drawings to each member. That disc is very good but it is missing some drawing that are included on another CD, one sold by

$25 for an Aeronca drawing CD.

Those CDs are excellent but they suffer from not having a way to search for specific information, the contents are listed by drawing number only, without any hint of the information is on each drawing. The reason I value the search engine at the Aeronca Museum so highly is that it will identify the drawing number for the information I seek and then I can quickly get the actual drawing from the CDs.

3. WAG Aero sells many Aeronca parts.

Thank you for the information Jerry I called skybound They don’t have any backing plates was told they were trying to get some made I also called Classic Aero LLC Gilbert, AZ 85295 480-650-0883 They do have some inventory of shinn brake parts but no Backing plates

Are you looking for the thin aluminum dust covers that cover the brake shoe assembly? I have two old ones that are dented and worn but are serviceable. Let me know if you need them.
