I've bought a 1958 7FC with c-90 engine. The previous owner had the gear converted from tricycle gear to tail wheel configuration. However there hasn't been 337 reflected in the documentation. The owner has passed, I'm not even sure who did the conversion. I've had people tell me field approval and others tell me I'll have to fill out 337 and get an IA/AP to sign off on the conversion.
So, the question is.
Has anyone got an example of a 337 with supporting drawings and wording of work?
Has anyone got detailed experience of the process to get this legal?
Regards

Re: Champion 7FC conversion
I have a 7FC that was converted to a 7EC. I think I recall seeing the paperwork somewhere. I am at Oshkosh and will endeavor to look up what I believe I have when I return home.

Re: Champion 7FC conversion
I just did some research on this and all of it pointed to Form 337 modifications. I wasn't able to come up with any factory support for this modification.

Re: Champion 7FC conversion
I sent you a PDF of the 337 used on my 7EC-conv (previously a 7FC) to your email.
It is very poorly detailed and only reverences Champion drawings and AC43-13-1 for guidance
If your A+P is having an issue with it please communicate and let's see if we can help.

Re: Champion 7FC conversion
I am looking at maybe doing the conversion as well. Seems like the 337 is the way to go for sure. Is it possible to share your most current and approved 337 for the FC TO EC conversion if anyone has one. Thank you for the help. Cheers

No, I did not use this. I had just finished my 7AC/7DC Conversion when I received this. Remember, this is old.

Thank you Don. I sent that STC to the IA to look it over.
