Are Champ wings and Chief wings the same?

I found a set of aluminum spar chief wings for sale and was wondering if they are the same as a 7AC. My Champ has an 0-235 and it sure would be nice to have to avoid that wing inspection every annual.

On my blueprint 'Contractors Copy of Cover Sheet', mid-page, approximate index grid C/5-6 is the notation:

"AERONCA CHAMPION MODEL 7 SERIES AND CHIEF MODEL SERIES 11 SERIES WINGS ARE TOTALLY INTERCHANGEABLE, AS WELL AS TAIL SURFACES, LANDING GEAR AND ENGINE COWLING".

I reply with this info for your use as YOU MAY DETERMINE APPLICABLE.

Thank you Orlan. I may try and see if these wings are still for sale. Since my Champ has an 0-235 maybe I can get away from that yearly wing scoping if I put on the aluminum spars. I'm new to this Champ stuff so excuse my ignorance. The local FBO is not used to fabric planes andunles I can find someone else to do the annual they are a little spendy when it comes to doing anything other than the typical Cessna.

Fly that Champ down to Alexandria. The guys at Weber's Aero Repair are very comfortable with tube & fabric machines. Their claim to fame is working on Bellanca Vikings and their ancestors.

I take my Champ there for its annual and for other work. Call Kevin at 320-763-4066; you can mention my name and they won't charge you any more than the usual rate.

Its out of annual since I have been waiting on some parts for nearly a month. I have it up here at my hangar and I think I have found a guy in Theif River that will come here to annual it.
