What kind of tailwheel steering arm do you have? Mine is cast steel?? and fits
over the rudder spar tube. I'm not crazy about the design so am ordering a Scott type of cast Al with a 3/4" post that fits inside the rudder spar.
I see no reason this won't work better because I can use thicker walled tubing to mount it in and make this end of the rudder spar stronger. As it is now it is 1" x 0.035" tubing, not very strong at all. My steering arm bolts ripped out the rudder spar holes and bent it back when I banged the rudder on the tailwheel.

Gus,
Nothing like that on my plane. Mine is cast aluminum and while I do not have the size handy, its not a standard size either. Believe its something like 11/16th's or 7/8's and not sold by ACS or Wicks.
Fits up inside the rudder post. Held in place by one bolt, believe an AN-4 but not sure.

Gus,
ACA makes a nice steering horn for the Citabria that will fit. The original bolts were 3/16. If they are allowed to run loose, for any length of time, they generaly need to be opened up to 1/4 to get a round hole again.

Paul and Joe,
Thanks. The one I'm ordering has a 3/4" shaft and fits inside the rudder post. I think it has two bolt holes, it is made for or by Scott according to the Air Spruce catalog.
I don't like this heavy steel outside mount thing. I can't believe one of these would be made of steel but it is?

I just looked up the Scott steering arm I was planning to by on the Air Spruce website and the price is $279.95!! Is Scott Co suffering from some kind of delusionment?
The catalog I have says $38, much more reasonable but it appears to be a misprint, it was probably supposed to be $380.
Needless to say I'll buy the no name one under it for $36.10.

Might want to call them, are you looking for the RUDDER ARM Scott PN 1140 about $65.00 or the Fork for $275.00?
