Log Cabin Airport Fly In
For those of you who happen to be in the west central Wisconsin/Midcentral east Minnesota area (or anyone who cares to come), the Log Cabin Airport will be hosting it's annual Fly In on Sunday September 3. This is one of the better local fly in's hosted by Doug Ward, who was a belly gunner on B17's during WW2 and now restores Piper Cubs (I know , not Aeroncas). You had me for second there (long way from Georgia to Wisconsin for a brats with no beer). Anyway, the fly in was still pretty good. I flew down in the rain, but it seemed to keep the Twin Cities people away, which I didn't blame them. It was pretty black for awhile.
I think he had around 75 fly in's though, where he probably would have had over 100 with good weather. Considering it's a pretty small field.
He has a great tradition going.
