Wanted: Champ with electric starter

Hello,
Like several others, I'm looking to buy an 85 or 90 hp Champ probably a CCM conversion. With good spars, fabric etc.
Is there such an airplane for sale ?

I think I saw one on the Aeroalaska site. Also there is a guy that posts on here...Jon B. that has a FC (?) converted with the 90HP. He just finished rebuiling the plane and from what I understand it is a nice Champ. He did have it for sale. The ad is in the For Sale section here. It was post last July I believe. Even though the ad says he changed his mind, give him an email and see.

I've actually been looking for a Champ with electrical system and starter for some time. I don't mind hand-propping, but it's awkward with only one person. And I do want a radio and transponder in our high traffic environment of South Florida. I know that a transponder is not required if no electrical system, but I just feel much happier with one. Our tower at my home field, Hollywood North Perry (KHWO) would also be happier.

It needs to be LSA-legal- under 1320 lbs. GW. Although I know that I could pass the FAA medical with a waiver, I just don't want all the red tape and recurring bother.

I soloed in a Champ in 1949 (at age 17) and have had a soft spot for it in my heart ever since.

The search continues...

Sorry Rudy, but I think the one I saw for sale was not LSA. It has an 0-235 and it makes for a great champ. I have an LSA legal 7AC that uses Buzz WAgner STC. It has the 0-235 with VG's and droop tip, seaplane door, floats, etc. It is a great performing little plane. The guy that did the conversion never raised the gross weigh so I got lucky in finding it. There are several around if you look long enough. Mine has a starter that I just replaced last summer with a Sky-tec. But has no charging system. I have a solar panel and plug in a trickle charger at night. The previous owner stated he never needed to charge the battery and he kept it on floats with several trips to the booneys in Canada.
