Thanks for the replys and suggestions, it helped, as an added service when the new linings were put on the shoes, new cam wear-plates were installed on the brake shoes, no added cost. also, what does IMHO mean??? Thanks again, Jack, Abilene, "Waterlogged," Texas.

Van Sickle Brake Drums

Post by darflyboy »

Can anyone tell me if there is a source of Van Sickle (now Cleveland) brake drums that may be cheaper than Univar. Univar wants $250 per drum.

Please e-mail me at darflyboy@bellsouth.net if you know of another less expensive source.

Thanks,

Cleveland (Van Sickle ) Mechanical Brake Drums

Post by darflyboy »

I thought I'd let everyone know that Cleveland (through Aircraft Spruce and Speciality) wants $1068.00 per Can Sickle Drum. AND I THOUGHT $311.00 WAS BAD!

If I remember correctly, Donna Losey from the old Luscombe group has a kit for replacing the lining. --- Also there is a cheap replacement drum you can use.

Will check the site, are they also the ones that have the drum??

While we are on brakes, the Clips and buttons, are the square holes the same form except for the hole as the round hole ones??
