The Pinkers are now in NAA's hands. I did buy pinkers for Nathan, Grumps, Kyle Boatwright, Paul Agaliotis and DrJeff who all asked earlier.

John Murphy, I wish I could known earlier but as Joe said, the NAA can sell a you a pair and that's a good thing.

Once the original folks get their pinkers, I only ask that you donate the purchase price to the NAA. I will ship to you guys at no charge.

I like to think it worked well. I kept the aggravation factor for the Florian family to minimum and NAA members come out ahead.

Guess I got in on this a little late.
What are you selling them for? Not listed as far as I could see. I'll be a definite maybe. I'm visiting the wife in DC and I can't remember if I already have a pair or not...old age is getting the best of me.

Do not want to list something that we do not have, and cannot price it until we have them in our hands to figure out shipping and such.

The pinkers are here and they are in excellent shape. If you guys are still interested, just email me your addresses and I'll send them out. Nathan, I have two for you, if you still want both. Paul, when I see you and if I don't owe you money or beer, I'll give you your pair when we meet up.

All I am asking is that you donate $27 for each pinker to the NAA once you receive them. I hope that all of you will.

Ok everyone, its coming together.

We have the last new Florian pinking shears available in our possession, so now we can start finding new homes for them.

For right now we are going to limit selling these to NAA members and as well for right now want to limit it to one per person. I have had private emails from people wanting to buy 5 of them and this is not going to help the others out there who want and need them. As well we would like them to go to Aeronca owners, as this is not a support group for Piper's, T-Carts, Luscombe's and so on. We received only 34 of them, so they are going to go fast IMHO and when they are gone, they are really GONE!

Price is $30 each plus shipping. These are brand new but not in a box. Guess that they ran out of boxes at the end so thats life. Aircraft Spruce and others were selling them for $36.95 while they were available, so this is a good price and one of the benefits of being a NAA member.

To throw a small wrench in the works, the shears are at my house in Arizona and I am heading out flying (gotta work to support the Aeronca!) and not returning until the 15th or 17th of May. Please hold on until then and when I return home will pick up the mail with everyone's checks in them and mail or UPS the shears out.

The people in this thread above who asked for one will be top on the list. Those who asked for two of them will get one right away and I will try to hold a second one for them, but would like to see how the demand is before selling several of them to one person and then running out for others.

O.K. I'm in the dark.... What do these shears do exactly? They must cut fabric, but what makes them special? sorry for the dumb question

When you are recovering an airplane, cutting the fabric with normal shears produces a straight line. Using a set of "pinking shears" makes a razor-tooth style of line.

The Florian company developed a set of pinking shears that uses a roller so that the fabric just keeps moving and is cut by the wheel.

The razor tooth style edge gives you more distance on the edge and when you cement it down it holds better for this reason.
