Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
Gail and I are probably going to fly up, but this year, we will probably be coming in the Birddog.

Joe. Suggestion. For those Aeronca owners who need to fly something other than their Aeronca, how about setting up a row of parking for them in the main area, rather than kicking them out in the back forty. Day trippers I can understand placing them in remote, but those staying might want to tent with their planes up closer to other Knocker owners. rog

Yea, ...and the next time the Piper Cub Club has a Migration, check with them
and see if you can park your Champ on the front row !

Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
There is one more Champ from this area that I hope will be coming, someone who is not on the list yet.
Would be nice to get a gaggle of Aeronca's flying from your area to Middletown!

We tried to do this last year but were over-ruled. Nathan was forced to out of the main area when he taxied in with the Cub.
Please send a letter to the NAA HQ about this if you would and maybe if several people suggest it that things may change.

On it. You hear it's going to be part of the Museum Flying Club. Kinda on a Lend/Lease program.

Yeah, I got busted last year, but I can understand wanting to keep the misfit airplanes out of ranks. But it would be nice to park somewhere a little closer to the action. I guess we need to lean on Jim.

Write letters NOW. You are a NAA member, own an Aeronca and want to park closer. There has to be a happy medium that is not 3/4 of a mile away. Please do not quote me or this thread, but as a NAA member you have the right to voice your opinions.Nathan K. I think that if you attend the National Aeronca Association fly-in to be included in the display area you should be in an Aeronca. If you want everyone to be included advertise it as the Middletown fly-in and have it sponsered by the local Piggly-Wiggly.

I am not sure if I am going or not but if you stopover at North Little Rock, Arkansas (KORK) let me know.I have a hangar and tools if anyone needs a layover or minor repair.
Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
Joe,
I am planning on flying up to Middletown for the convention in June. It will be good to see you again. I hope you have done something to improve your looks. Getting the Sedan might have helped.
I have had the need to be in the Huntsville, Alabama area a lot this summer and fall (family issues). I stop in at Moontown every time I am there. I saw your ole Chief on one occassion but the owner was not there. I think it was in the shop for an annual or perhaps for some repair.
BTW I finished rebuilding my Cessna 140 a couple of weeks ago and if
it EVER stops raining here in South Carolina I will fly it. If I knew how to send pictures on the internet I would send a pic to you. I will try to learn.
Hope to hear from you and looking forward to seeing you in June in Middletown, weather permitting.

Nate,
I will look forward to seeing you at trhe convention in June. Sorry the Ga boys are plane-less but my money says that they will be flying in June. even if it is an old CUB that cannot be parked with the rest of us.
If you do fly up let me know Mike and I might just meet you somewhere and join your gaggle of champs .....and what ever else you fly up. My bestest regards to your parents.

Re: Who is flying into Middletown 2010?
After seeing all the pictures of the beautifully restored Aeroncas at last year's Fly-in, I think me and my ugly duckling will have to stay home!!

Keith,
I am uglier than ever but the Sedan is cute as a bug, so they might let me in next summer.
Dan, come on down, we love all Aeronca's, especially the pre-war models!
