Mike,

Forgotten which issues but the NAA magazine has several articles on the various versions of the L-16, with paint and such in them. Might look into getting a few of these now that we do internet sales.

If you want it yellow Mike, paint it yellow. I have seen some pictures of them Olive Drab and a mottled scheme when they were deployed to Korea.
Aeronca supplied them in the silver paint with a minimum of stencils applied. I think all repairs were done by the military. If an airplane needed a visit to a ripple dipple it could have come out with any color applied.
They should have followed a T.O. for repair and paint. If you want to go to the trouble, you might find a document that allowed a variation to the T.O. It,s a long shot but it might get you what you want.
