C-85 high fuel consumption

Tim,

Did you ever find out the reason for your high fuel consumption??

Have not found the problem yet. We took the carb off and it looked ok. The needle valve (steel) look worn and leaked (explains the dripping). The float looked good (no leaks). Everything was pretty clean. I sent it out for servicing and should get it back in a few weeks.

Somebody may have said this already( i don't have time to read all the pages), but I had an 0320lyc burn 11.5 gph on me once. It should burn about 8-9 max. It was on an IFR cross country and it almost ran me out of gas. Upon further inspection I found 3 intake leaks. When I fixed them the problem it went away.
