I am uglier than ever but the Sedan is cute as a bug, so they might let me in next summer.
Dan, come on down, we love all Aeronca's, especially the pre-war models!

Well, this one is very pre-war, with original panel, engine, and looks.
It was rebuilt in 79 with Stitts, but will need a recover sometime in the near future. The cowling was beaten back into shape with a ball peen hammer, so hopefully I can get that squared away this winter.

Joe,
I am planning to be there in '10. I'm sure Carl can be talked into coming also. Is the Best Western going to provide a block of rooms this year? Those guys were great in '08. I would have burned a whole tank of gas looking for that nudie bar if it wasn't for them.
Dan I hope you can make the Convention. Operating a pre-war model is tough. Parts are always a problem. The Champ and 11AC Chief owners have a pretty easy time of it.
I'm in the design stage for Nathans new Margarita machine. It utilizes a 65 Continental. a wood chipper and a spa tub. See you all there.

Only if you know the secret password! (BTW, its Aeronca)
Paul,
No idea on the hotel situation right now, its a bit soon for that on my end. I will prolly stay at the Fairfield as I am a long time Marriott guy and can use points for the stay.

Which nudie bar? The one that Joe danced in or the one in which he tried to pick up the hostess but found ot se was too heavy?

My vote, if they allow us old timers to vote, is to NOT allow anything but Aeronca's in the "patch". I go to Sun and Fun and Oshkosh to see a variety of planes. I prefer keepiing Middletown reserved for Aeronca's ONLY. It IS the National Aeronca Association isn't it ???

Nope, am saving myself for the blonde in the bar across the street from the airport. "She needs me" but does not know it yet.

That sounds like the story of my life...thinking, dreaming, praying that some where, somehow there is a blond, red head, brunnet (I ain't picky) that needs me. And they do. BUT it's usually to change a flat tire, or to borrow my jumper cables.
It's only December and Middletown is a long way off but I am already getting excited about the trip. Where are you staying? Preferrences? I don't remember where we stayed year before last but it was a long way from the field.
BTW I finished the 140 about a month ago but the weather has been so bad down here that I have only flown it three times. I put it up for sale yesterday. Don't need two planes and the Aeronca is so much more fun althought it is NOT nearly as sophiscated and modern as the C-140. The aeronca is alos quieter on the ground (spam cans rattle badly of course_ andI like the room in a tandum seater.
I shied away from rebuilding a chief because of the 38in cabin width only to find that the 140 is 37 in wide.
I will try to send you a pic of the 140

Believe that I will stay in the Fairfield. Its near the complex near the highway and lots of places to eat around there.

Joe,
Thought about coming to Middletown, and understand all the places you go when a person is out of town. The Mexican foot place has me worried now!

Sad to say but Joe "goes commando" in this area, so there will not be any pics of me in my skivvies!
Lets hope that there is some way you can make it.
