No one is allowed to make fun of my dented up cowling, though or I will immdeiately throw down the gloves.
Dan, if this happened most of us would laughed off of the airport!
We just come to have fun and enjoy the airport where our Aeronca's first took flight. Course there might be some joking after the dinner and adult beverages are consumed!
Assume that most if not all of you have received the excellent fly-in notice that the Aeronca factory (thanks to Keith Wyman of Aeronca) printed up and had mailed to EVERY registered owner of an Aeronca in the country??!! Mine arrived yesterday.
Just found out that they sent out 4500 fliers to everyone and you know what this means? Please make your hotel reservations NOW as I am guessing that this may be one of the biggest fly-in's at Middletown in years. On the flier there is a list of hotels in the area that are holding rooms and offering special rates for us, so hope you can help those who are helping us.
As I posted in another thread... I'll probably be heading up from Atlanta on Thursday evening or Friday morning and will be returning either Saturday evening or Sunday. I'll probably have an extra seat available in the RV-6 if someone of reasonable proportions needs a ride.
Drop me a PM if you're interested.

Glad you are back home without any additional injuries from the sand pits and will be able to make Middletown. I know how the bad back can set you back. I carry a a small hardware store in my lower back. Sounds like some of your friends may have protected my nephew a couple of weeks ago. He works at one of the Air Force hospitals that was under fire. He said it got hairy for a few hours. Thanks for all you do.
I won't be able to make it this year, but maybe I'll have a pre-war chief up there in a couple of years.
Just called the Enterprise rental car people and they still have cars available. If anyone needs one might get a reservation in before they run out. They were more than happy to deliver it to the airport.
I'm so excited that i'm actually going to make it this year! Decided to leave ok on Wed so if the weather is nice I'll see you guys wednesday afternoon.
I'm somewhat committed to a wedding Saturday (not mine ) but still trying to figure out a way to get a day or two in at Middletown. It's about a 10 hour drive considering I have to go around Chicago some way. The weather looks great, too.
Hope you gents from Georgia stop and pick up Dr. Jeff on your way here. Bent over picking up my motorcycle 4 days ago and did wonders to my lower back... Could sure use his "magic hands" working on my back for a bit...
