Just got off the phone with Enterprise and have a Trail Blazer standing by at the airport. So if anyone needs a lift to/from the hotels or has to run to town; it'll be there for ya. Wonder how many miles we could put on it in 4 days?

I was doing some rough figuring:
Fly Champ: 14 hours round trip at 4 GPH= $300
Drive pickup at 18 MPG = $283
Drive Pontiac @ 28 MPG =$182
But then, it would be a heck of a lot better to fly around Chicago rather than drive thru Chicago. Anyway, weather will dictate how I get there and return rather than cost, I guess.

The answer looks obvious to me, fly the Champ for $300 of course! That's the most mathmatically logical choice right? Definitely the most fun per dollar!

Is anyone flying to the convention from the upper midwest area (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Twin Cities area, etc. )? I wouldn't mind hooking up with someone and flying down. Tenatively planning on starting out either Weds or Thurs (9/10) depending on weather. Being somewhat retired has it's advantages.
Also, scheduled for annual on the Champ tomorrow so hopefully everything will work out there.
