7AC-BCM For Sale in Arkansas

Post by jlwright »

I have come to the realization that as long as I have the Champ I will probably never finish my RV-9A I'm building and I need the money to finish the RV-9A anyway. This a a 1946 7AC converted to a BCM ( 85 hp ) with no electrics. It cruises at 100 MPH at 2400 RPM or 95MPH at 2350. It is a very nice Champ compared to some others I have seen. This plane was owned by Jim Gaston at Gaston's resorts in the early nineties. My friend owned it since 1992 and I have only owned it for a month. I thought it would be great to have the Champ to fly while building my plane but I find I am spending all my time with the Champ instead of working on the RV.The plane did have some damage history in the 1970's and was completely rebuilt and has been flying ever since.
Total time is around 4000 hours and 500 on a major. I have pretty complete logs and the plane was recovered with Stitts Polyfiber in 1988. It is a good solid plane and flies great. I just want to recover what I have in the plane which is $24,500.00. I am located in north Arkansas (HRO) if interested. You can see a picture at www.jimsairplanes.com .
