I think this is a great place to trade knowledge. I've picked up many ideas over the past few years since I bought and rebuilt my Champ and hope
I've also helped someone with whatever knowledge I've been able acquire in the process. Also, this group tends to stick to the subject (Champs and Chiefs)
Another group I frequent on occasion (Cherokee Owners) gets into political discussions among other avenues. Kind of fun, but usually doesn't accomplish much.

Leave this site at it is. Otherwise, at least for me,it will become like my GPS, my DVD, my CellPhone, my new Coffe Maker, etc: a lot of functions that I never need and never wanted, but interferes with my simple wishes to fly direct, watch an old movie, talk to my wife, make my coffee, etc. The discussion group, as it is, is PERFECT. The site content is very good, concise, to the point and on topic.
The mechanics and infrastructure of the site is not good. It takes ages to load and is quite clumsy to use.
Most of the type clubs go down the Yahoo group or Pprune type format, perhaps it is time to look at a more user friendly presentation. The Aeronca archives sufers in a similar way -
I run out of patience trying to find a ceratin thread or bit of information.
Look forward and change, it can only get better.

I tend to agree with Mike's opinion. This forum has always been a great help to me, and I think it alway's will.
But the format is a bit outdated and hard to work with. I have followed a SuperCub forum since it's birth and watched it grow ( www.supercub.org ) and I must say, it has a very user friendly set-up.
General discussion, Rants and raves, sick bay, help and hints, for sale section, a search engine that works perfect, and a place to post photos are all there, plus much more and I think that would be great here.
I'm sure everyone's got a picture of there plane and would like to show it off. If you are worried about peaple posting threads about which truck is the best, then simply don't read it.
I understand that it take many hours of someones personal time to run a website, but i still hope that AeroncaPilots.com will grow. nkh

New Bulletin board
Flip,
We set up this site 10 days ago and have been "beta" testing it since. Just saw your post on the old discussion board and went over to the SuperCub site. This one is EXACTLY like it!
Hope you all enjoy the new and much better bulletin board!

this new site ....
... is excellent. Well done all those whose efforts have made it so. One small thing ... it appears the "new-posts" markere are not activated, as nothing seems to have that label.

Guest,
When a new reply is received, the icon on the left side of the page changes color. Was working last night, will check it out with this email.
Rich,
Have seen this happen when I refreshed the page and for some reason I did not stay logged in. Your name showed up on the post. The other way to check is of you look at the top of the page it shows a "log in or log out" symbol on the 4th line under the header on the page. If it says "log out" then the program sees that you are logged in.
