Just like I thought, it didn't work. It didn't look like Nathan said it would in the preview but I tried a post anyway. I get stuck on step 6 when I "copy" the code and "paste" to the forum. I don't know how to paste the code. which button do I use to paste? Help please, Jim

Right click on your mouse and hit 'paste' OR hold the 'control' button and hit the letter V.

Where are you hosting the photo?

OK, I found the next page where I right click, and click on the paste button for the IMG and the code looks like it should. But when I go to the Aeronca forum site which button do I hit to get the picture there? I tryed hitting the IMG button between the subject and the message and all I get is [IMG] after the message and when I preview the picture doesn't come up. Thats been my bigest problem with computers, how to make something go from "here" to "there", somehow it gets lost in a black hole. By the way I'm using Photobucket just like Nathan described and followed the directions. Everything is great up to that point. Still lost, Jim

That is a screenshot from what you should be seeing when copying from a photobucket. I uploaded and posted that picture in the manner that I described in the red text. I hope that simplifies things for you.

Right click on the image on a website and go to "copy image location" then put it between the [img]marks[/img]

Then it should show up.

That does work, but if you are posting an image that is hosted on someone else website that they are paying for, its considered internet stealing. And if they really dont like that, they will change the picture to something less that reputable so it appears in your post as something disgusting.

Not that I have ever done that......

It is always best to upload the picture to your free hosting service (photobucket etc etc) and then post it.

Sorry but disagree. Never mentioned anyone elses website.

Am talking about using a photo hosting site, not any other site. I NEVER suggested doing anything illegal, so pls lets not go there.

I did that and I got the code but no picture to appear. I think I right clicked on the field on the Aeronca message area and the code came up but no picture. I get lost on the Aeronca forum end of it and can't make the picture appear. Still confused, Jim

You have too many [img] in there. All you need is http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee22 ... d476-1.jpg wrapped in the [img] code. You were very close!

Wow, you got it to appear. I know I had to many [IMG]'s but I didn't know how to fix it. Thanks!

This is my project, a 7AC that I've owned for 22 years and currently under restoration. The wings are on saw horses in the back and the engine is on a wood stand on casters. I just got the fuselage epoxy primed this fall before the weather got cold, I had to paint outside.

Next spring I'll paint the color around the cabin tubes and can fit the formers and stringers on. All my stringers are made from raw stock from Aircraft Spruce. I used a router mounted to my brothers table saw to make the "T" stringers and they came out very nice. The cost savings was about $100.00 over premade. I bent my wing tip bows this fall by hand and they came out like I wanted. I'll try to work on some parts this winter at home in the basement where it's warm.

The hangar I rent is very old, it was about 2 miles away on another airport and when that closed it was disassembled and moved to this airport in the early 50's. It has a north facing door, which is the worst thing you can have in the north country. You have to keep the snow shoveled all winter even if you don't fly or the door will freeze shut by spring.

If I can post some photos I'll share some of the things I've found in my project and hopefully help some others with their projects.

Nice looking hangar. Have you guys ever looked into closing off the North side and moving the door to the South side? Might be a lot easier than fussing with frozen doors!

Here's a photo of my 7AC in better days when it was all in one piece. It was taken at Milaca MN about 50 miles north of the Twin Cities. One of the nicer grass strips in the state. They have a BBQ/fly-in the first weekend after Oshkosh, with camping under the nearby trees. My friend had his PA-12, and together, we were having some fun in the summer.
To Joe and others who gave advice on posting photos, I was doing everything correct, but the BBC needed to be turned on. Thats what made the difference in allowing the pictures to appear instead of just the code. Jim
