The only thing I can see here that might be a problem is the Imron paint. That stuff is harder than woodpecker lips and will usually crack on fabric after it's been on for awhile. Even with a 'flex agent'.

My present Champ was originally painted with Imron before I bought it (as a basket case) and most of the fabric had ringworms and cracks. I recovered everything except the wings as that was a recent cover and I was able to sand out and reprime most of the ringworms on the wings. Then repainted with Superflite. Not perfect but servicable for now, although some cracks are beginning to reappear after several years.

Even Superflite will crack if it's pushed on during extremely cold weather, like pushing the tail sideways to unlock the tail wheel . In the summertime you can bend it right around without cracking.

Just my thoughts for whatever it's worth (beautiful plane, though).

I would ask abut the fabric--an Imron paint job sometimes is to make it look nice and cover up a possible near term need. Seen it happen many times.

Hello guys, The 65TC is not a cover-up but has had the Air-Tech method for poly urethane paint done with entire new cover about ten years ago. The valve covers are now recently powder coated to match the paint and the interior also is the blue with cream piping to match the outside. Just thought I would add to the conversation that this is no pile of junk. Thanks for the positive comments and have a nice evening.

PS: Selling the old gal because I am restoring a pre-war"stick" chief and only room for one plane. But may try to hang onto it though.

Hey guys, I know Rock and he would not try to cover things up. This is truly a pristeen aircraft. Not his fault this is what airtech uses. Rock is doing a great job restoring a 39 stick chief now.

Glad to see it clarified as AirTec is a polyurathane paint formulated for aircraft fabrics. Great looking plane .

Rock is being modest. Ken Blaylock, guru for Airtec and also Cliff Hatz (of The Hatz Biplane), both helped some on this plane. It is very Pristeen.

Last one that I saw that looked that nice was Tom Holmes Aeronca and it was the Grand Champion at the Cactus Airshow.

Would love to see more photos of this one. Hint, hint!
