Stolen Transponder

Post by oksmle »

Hope this isn't a double posting but I typed this out about a half hour ago, submitted it & it hasn't appeared yet. So here goes.... Last week a Garmin GTX-320A, Transponder, Serial No. 83807081, was stolen from my '46 Champ. They did a real nice job of removal & nothing else was damaged. Some of the local pilots & I are keeping an eye on Ebay & Trade-A-Plane. If this happens to pass by any of you folks I would appreciate a collect call.

Thanks,

Dick Simmons

Dick,

Not to worry and if its a double post I will take care of the other one. Sorry to hear about this but it happens and glad that the airplane was not damaged.

Hope you find the x-ponder and the jerk winds up in jail!

Have you notified the FBI or local police about its theft? They have a federal registry of stolen avionics and that might help when someone tries to sell or install it.

Good point. It has to be checked every two years and if someone doing this re-certification should see it at least that would help in tracking it back to the thief.
