Does anyone know how much a set of Eaisman mags are worth? One is inpulse and the other is not. I know I can look on ebay but I would like some input from others here. Thanks
I would say they are good cores. Thanks again. Mark

Not much unless you can get the parts to overhaul them. I've got a box full of them and no parts. They will suffice as a core deposit with harness for new Slicks, but the rebate now is $150 down from $300 for a pair. Putting Slicks on my Champ, used Bendix as cores with harness and the rebate is $150 and about 6 months waiting time for it from Slick..

Mark,
As Doug pointed out, the Eiseman magneto has a parts problem. Al at Savage Magneto has a bunch of parts for repair if you need them. By the time you have him overhaul them the cost is about par with a Slick replacement set. They will last three times as long as the Slicks but most airplanes will never see the advantage.

The price ranges on the Mag are not too high. The non-shielded AM series I have bought for under $20 and the shielded LA series about twice that. If you have some maintenance history on them the price could be slightly higher.

The last time I looked the Eiseman had an AD on the coils. Being a commercial mag, parts were available from the local tractor supply. Some of the commercial parts got mixed in. I have found a bad coil installed only once.
