Seatbelts/Shoulder harnesses

Post by Guest »

I have Mil. Spec. belts and harnesses in my Chief that I purchased. I was wondering what would be the best option(types of approved belts/placement) since they are not faa/pma approved and it needs an annual? I just want to fly! Thanks in advance for the info.

Check with Jack Hooker at Hooker Harness. (815) 233-5478
They have a New complete bolt-in shoulder harness package designed to comply with FAA; ACE-00-23.561-01 that needs only a log book entry.
If your going to SUN & FUN check out their booth. I beileve Jack was going to try and present the new set-up at the Aeronca forum.

Would be really interested in this as well. Anyone having more information on this, please post when they can.

Thanks,

We just looped it around the rear spar carrythough. Approved via 337.
With the internal doubler, we figured any crash that would bend the carry through would probably also bend me without the harness. And the G loads bending the carry through would also be a major bend to the plane, so repairs would be needed. We also reasoned that any bolt on bracket would be one more mode of failure and the belt has to loop around a sharp radius bend to get through the bracket, that it was actually better to have that large
radius bend around the spar carry through direct.
