Its Good to be Back

Post by tmmiller »

Several of you might remember my postings about a year ago on the Chief I was rebuilding. I even had a link to my blog so you could watch the progress. I sold that Chief, finished thru the silver, to finance a RV-9 project.
The day the Chief pulled out of here, I knew that I had made a huge mistake. I'm just a low and slow kind of guy.
Well here I am (after loosing $500.00 to Vans) ready to restore my newly acquired 7-AC project. Like the Chief, you are welcome to follow my progress on the new blog, www.aeroncachamp.blogspot.com.

I'm sure I will have many questions during the next couple of years (especially from you, Nate). My first being...does anyone have any "good used" aileron bay ribs for sale? I have found 3 very poorly patched ribs on the first wing.

So, bear with me guys as N2018E gets torn apart and restored. I will have questions! Matt Miller

Good to have you back!

Now play with the Champ until you realize that the Chief is nicer and we can help you find one of those! :)

By the way Nathan, we haven't heard much about progress on your Champ lately. Hope it's not gathering cobwebs :( or "Pop' might wear the engine out on the Brand "P" before you finish it :D :D .

Good to have you back Matt. I was sorry to see your Chief go. I haven't read the article in Sport Aviation yet, I'm saving the best for last. Jim

Mike, it's still moving forward, all be it slowly. And I fixed the issue with the engine. Were soon to have 2 Super-85's in the family.

Well, as much as I wanted to have twin Champ... I think I'll maintain it as a single engine. Something about fuel burn vs. fuel capasity. Dad's already pulled rank and said my engine goes on my airplane...... And here I thought he'd be a gentleman and give me the new one that we can REALLY hop up.
