Teledyne Continental Motors (TCM) is announcing a special offer for customers wishing to upgrade their engines to TCM’s Bendix line of magnetos.

For a limited time, TCM will grant 100% core credit for any competitor’s magneto core returned for credit against new magnetos that are purchased to upgrade an engine’s ignition system.

The offer is subject to the following guidelines:

· Credit for competitor’s core will be granted for new magneto purchases only
· Cores received must be comparable to replacement Bendix magneto – NO SUBSTITUTIONS!
· Core must be complete and able to be returned to service.
· Standard core return periods apply

TCM’s technical support staff is on hand and ready to assist customers in cross referencing magneto part numbers to ensure customers receive the correct magnetos and harnesses.

How about the harness? Do you understand this to be an even swap? Guess this is there answer to the Champion buyout of Unison Slick.

After years of fighting all the ADs on Bendix mags I'll never buy another one. The impulse coupling one was the worst but the coils and other parts were just too much.

When the Bendix mags on my Champ go I'll replace them with Slicks. It will be the third aircraft I'll do this on.

I agree, I've been running Eisemann's for 20 years and haven't had any problems at all.
There's only 1 AD to replace a set of bad coils and that's it.
I personally like the unshielded mags and harness and will continue to run them and keep my plane nearly original.
