I was just on the phone with my credit card provider making some changes to my account, and casually asked what the interest rate was on my account. They said 28%! I usually try to pay them off in full every month but there are times when I have a balance that is carried over.
I asked the guy if he could not do a bit better and after a few key strokes, he replied that its now down to 13%!!!
Never realized that they have the discretion to cut what they are charging by this amount, so wanted to pass this along to everyone. If you have not done so, call your CC companies and tell them that you want a lower rate and if they do not help that you can do it yourself by using your other cards. This sure could have saved me some money had I done this years ago!
