Superior Cylinder kits???

Does anybody know if Superior is still selling new replacement cylinder kits for the 0-200? I saw where they filed for chapter 11.

Lycoming bought all the accets I believe. No word yet if they're going to re-brand everything or hold the stock to keep it off the market. If you're needing cylinders, might start looking at ECI's.

Who sells the ECI Cylinder kits? Aircraft Spruce?

I took a tour of ECI in December and have started using them for machine work. The facility was capable of producing all of the repairs I needed. I looked at all of the castings and forgings for the new items and all of it was quality. They were installing some new machinery to produce the parts.
I still lean to using the OEM stuff but all of the items I saw were good. If they could give a little better price I might try some.

Well then, WHO is currently producing NEW continental cylinder kits? As far as I know, its only ECI, and Continental. My IA says that the brand new Continental brand cylinders have to be dissassembled and checked, due to many production errors... before they can be put into use. Gail's Champ has the ECI nickle cylinders, and they have performed fine for the last 40 hours (of course 40 hours does not provide proof of quality). I am particularly impressed with the feel while turning the prop: it feels like a spring, with no noticable loss of pressure.

One other concern is the availability of A65 cylinder kits. As far as I know Superior was the only company making cylinder kit for the A65 series engines. Somehow I can't see Lycoming selling Continental kits unless it's done through a sub company. Hopefully, I hope that's not the case. The quickest way to raise prices is to buy out the competition.
