7AC Rear Fuselage Needed

Post by bsafran »

Help! We are repairing a Champ fuselage for a gentleman from Virginia. I have never seen more tubing splices in one airframe in my life and what is not spliced is rusted through. It would be more cost effective to weld on a new tail instead of repairing everything that is bad. We are located near Cleveland, OH and need a rear fuselage from the baggage compartment back to the tailwheel. Does anyone know of a bashed up Champ fuselage with a good rear end?

Brian,

There is a guy here in Phoenix who has a Champ fuselage that is rusted. Its been on Ebay for ages and not purchased. How bad its rusted is UNK, but you might look on Ebay and get ahold of him.

His name is Ernest and tell him that Joe here in town sent you, and maybe the rear end is ok.

One in the same... Mr. Brain Safran.

Brain, I've got a rear fuselage, but it's ruff and bent. You're more than welcome to it no charge; I rescued it from the dumpster.

My neighbor down the road at the airpark has a complete 7AC champ fuselage hanging in his hanger, and said he would take $500 for it. located at Windsock Airpark, in Abilene, TX. Looks to be in good condition, very dry climate around here!!!, so no rust that I can tell, if interested, call 325 673 0430 ask for Bill Masters, or call or email me 325 670 0112 Jack
