OK, we here in the Mother country do have chilly weather - not as chilly as Minnesota Eh ?

However, we are having our first BBQ of the season, it is 52f, a chilly wind but clear, our guests are about to arrive and hopefully, i will be able to post a photo of our patio heater - Joe - help !

The heater is a modified propane cylinder - de gas, put a grate and chimney in (make sure it is well down inside otherwise it draws too much).

The Tiger Moth and my second Champ were shot on the Centenary of the second powered flight - i.e., those two cycle chaps - George Cayley was the first, obviously, in Yorkshire, England.

The Champ photo was me having fun in the one that Bill Pancake used to fuel when he was a lad - apparently.

The Zlin 526 was a nice airplane, weird, but nice. The motor went the wrong way round and aerobatics were strange.

The Christen Eagle was a rebuild job that we kinda inherited. It turned a $10,000 profit and enabled us to order all the RV7 bits we need.

So, I am 'Roncaless at present. I would like to do a restoration of a Champ next, but put a round engine in it (Rotec radial - 90hp, Australan).

Time for bed............... hic !

I'd love some day to own either a Zlin 526 or a Chipmunk.

Plus a Ranger powered Farchild 24.

We all have to have a dream now don't we!

Strangely enough, the Zlin was a bit of a disappointment. It was relatively slow, didn't have a heater, relied on Czech suppliers for parts, oh and the motor went round the wrong way !

It was rather aerobatic though, in a classic, gentlemanly way.

With hindsight, I should have bought the CAP 10 on offer at the same time, but hey ho.

The Eagle was a fixer upper to finance our current project, an RV7.

The Champ was one of several 'Ronca's - 2 Champs, 2 Citabrias.

Nothing to fly at present which puts the pressure on getting the RV done, then I can sort out another fixer upper project.

Surely you mean a round engined Fairchild - puleeese !
