Anybody know the acceptable/outer limit tolerence (fore & aft) for the thrust bearing.
Prop/Crank moves 3/16" fore & aft, (not my engine) Cont. C-90.
On a side note, any Pros & Cons to cruising around at 1900 rpm?
(I don't know what prop he has)

According to my service manual (C90) the end play should be minimum of .004 to a max of .015. It also gives a 'service maximum' of .025, but I'd guess normal would be somewhere between .006-.008. Obviously 3/16 (.187) is way out of specs. Think I'd check the filter or screen for metal.

I think the engine has possibly broken the slinger ring. If the engine is in a tractor configuration it won't show any issues. But that much end play is not normal. It's possible that the wrong thrust bearings were installed if this is a recent overhaul. There are four different thrust bearing styles.
Slugging around at 1900 will coke up the engine. I would try to avoid the lower settings.
